Green Man Festival 2008 – Brecon Beacons – Wales | August 2008

I really like the ethos of the Green Man Festival held annually in the Welsh mountains. Out of all the UK festivals I have been to they are trying the hardest to keep the original ethos and ideas of the british country festival. Great food is top of the list with food supplied by local producers and business with a strong emphasis on organic produce and sustainable food. Next of course is the music, a folk music slant but that diverges into rock, electronic and psychedelia as the night draws in. Entertainment for kids, craft areas and the beautiful countryside make it the perfect alternative family getaway but be warned, as we found the weather in south wales early august isn’t always guaranteed to be sunny. Ours is the yellow tent.
